Current projects

I am interested in the question of how complex networks are used by humans: in my Bachelor thesis, I analyzed how humans traverse the state space of simple board games and how their usage of the state space correlated with the perceived difficulty of the game. In my Master thesis and the work for my PhD thesis, I considered the question of how paths (or walks) in networks can be compared and developed similarity measures for paths (or walks) in complex networks. With the derived similarity measures for paths, I aim at cluster paths into groups of similar paths. If the paths represent solution paths of players for example, this might allow to identify different player types. Since there are no approaches of comparing paths in graphs, proper tools for the evaluation of the measures need to be developed as well.
